There are only two songs that, whenever I hear them, are guaranteed to make me tear up..sometimes out and out sob...The Star Spangled Banner (I can be embarrassing at sporting events!!) and Amazing Grace....every time. My grandfather, who passed away a couple of years ago, always said that Amazing Grace was just the song one needed to remind you that God was there in times when you felt He wasn't.
A long time ago...and almost another lifetime, it seems, I lived in Atlanta...a few miles frm our house was a church, that on a Sunday morning, you could hear just about to come off its hinges from the music and the power that was coming out of that building. The songs, the emotions and the energy...even with listening on the road nearby, never going in...was enough to give me the strength I needed for the coming week.
That was so informative. Thank you for sharing that I never would have known. I am visiting by way of sandiegomomma and BitchHer 08. Looks like you had a great time!
I am a self employed single Mom of 4, known for flying by the seat of my pants. That is: Deciding a course of action as I go along, using my own initiative and perceptions rather than a predetermined plan or mechanical aids. It works for me. And what an adventurous life I get to live.
Creativity has been attributed variously to divine intervention, cognitive processes, social environment, chance, accident, or serendipity. It has been associated with genius, mental illness and humour. Some say it is a trait we are born with; others say it can be taught with the application of a few simple techniques.
For me, creativity is the way I survive. I rarely want for anything and if I do, I get creative.
